Everclear, Vertical Horizon, and Fastball played at Treasure Island on May 26th. I went to the show expecting to a younger crowd which thinking back doesn’t make sense since this was Everclear’s So Much For The Afterglow 20th anniversary tour. An album that is literally as old as I am. The crowd was really amazing and fun. There were women at least as old as my mom there and they were having the time of their lives seeing bands that they loved 20 years ago.
They all played a good mix of older songs that only “super fans” would know and some of their newer songs. These 90s Alt-rock bands all had hits that made their way to Billboards hot 100 list back in the day.
Seeing Everclear, Vertical Horizon, and Fastball and hearing songs that played on the radio when I was a little kid was so beyond a nostalgic experience not only for myself but for everyone attending the show that night. To the couples embracing and slow dancing, to the fans crying as they sang along to their favorite songs. This was a night to remember for so many people.
If Everclear’s So Much For The Afterglow 20th anniversary tour is coming to a city near you I highly recommend going if you aren’t already!
