Grungy, Dirty, and Heavy. Those are the words that come to mind when I think of the Distillers. Vocalist/guitarist Brody Dalle had a way of ripping into your core and exposing the crust of human existence with her voice and lyrics.
“I’m living on shattered faith. The kind that likes to restrict your breath. Never been a better time than this. Suffocate on eternal bliss”.
Drain the Blood was the first song I had listened by The Distillers and it awoke something. Perhaps a need for more raspy vocals or the need feel this nostalgic rebellion of teenage angst. When I listen to the Distillers I teleport to a time where I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs about the world and life.
