REVIEW | “Let the Ocean Take Me” by The Amity Affliction

by Hana

The Amity Affliction brings a new perspective to the metalcore scene. Let the Ocean Take Me isn’t just another “catchphrase” album. From a heartbreaking voicemail at the end of “Never Alone” to a crushing story told through “My Father’s Son,” this album has a new way of dealing with mental health. Instead of the generic “You’ll be okay” or “You’re not alone” songs, The Amity Affliction tell their stories, making this album all the more relatable and fresh.
