Kellin’s Polaroid Package: Ego or what the people want?

By Keenan

So many of you know Sleeping with Sirens is headlining their “Feel This Tour” with Memphis May Fire and Breath Carolina. If you ever wanted to meet the man behind the mic, Kellin Quinn, it’ll cost you more than a pretty penny. $80.00 for what they’re calling “Kellin’s Polaroid Package” which will let you attend a group Question and Answer session with Kellin, an autographed photo of him, and early admission.

This high-priced package hasn’t sit well with everyone. Oliver Sykes, singer of the renowned band Bring Me The Horizon, seems to feel Kellin’s Polaroid Package is too high in price and a sign of the vocalist’s ego. Sykes called Kellin out on Twitter:

“Next USA tour! Oli Sykes special polaroid package! Take a photo with me! Special price! Absolutely no charge at all!…”

Responding to Sykes and other similar charges Kellin wrote via TwitLonger:

“I feel like this is an amazing deal for 80 dollars if you disagree then don’t buy it, no one is forcing you k?”

Is Kellin’s Polaroid Package exploitation or a great deal?

Though I don’t know whether this is the case, it’s really sad to see someone let fame go to their head. But the package has been sold out in most states, including Minnesota (at MYTH), so obviously there are people who are willing to pay the price.

I do worry this could also be a start of high priced VIP tickets, since the ADTR tour’s highest VIP price is going for $200.

We’ll just have to play the waiting game to see if more bands will follow. Personally I think it’s too much, but for many hardcore Sleeping with Sirens–and just Kellin Quinn–fans, the package seems to have proved to be worth the price.
