#FF Follow Friday | Write for THE GARAGE

Normally our Fridays at GARAGE MUSIC NEWS contain a Follow Friday post. It’s a short essay about why you the reader should check out a band we the writers think is cool. We’ve covered a ton of acts from many genres, like grindcore, old school metal, hip-hop, hard-edged Americanahardcore, and post-hardcore.

GARAGE MUSIC NEWS is searching for music-loving high school-aged students to expand our weekly music coverage. Contributions could include profiles of local or national artists and general music interest pieces. In addition to having one of the coolest jobs around, GARAGE MUSIC NEWS writers will be building a portfolio of writing beneficial for applications to future jobs and colleges (tell your parents that one). Writers will also receive editing and feedback from GMN’s editor to ensure their writing is continually improving. This is a great chance to contribute to the Twin Cities music scene.

To be a GARAGE MUSIC NEWS writer an interested student must complete a certification course with the GARAGE MUSIC NEWS editor, Logan.

THE GARAGE is offering the second such course Saturday, April 20. There are 6 available spots. To claim a spot, email Logan by 9pm on Thursday, April 18 at The email should be a short letter that tells him who you are, what kinds of music you like and why, and why you want the job. The email will help him get to know you before Saturday.
